This is a Cadillac phone for sure… Too bad the interior is all basic Honda Civic quality. For one the honor apps keep forcing themselves to be default when you don’t want them to. This gives the vibe that the phone still has its spyware and malware roots from the days of Huawei. I was already uneasy about this when I got it but because it was the global version and uses Google base software, I felt safe enough trying it out cause the Samsung Z Fold 6 just didn’t have the charging capabilities this phone was supposed to have but which I could not for the life of me get it to charge at the supported rates. I have tried a over 6 different high wattage chargers from well known brands and none of them were able to get the phone to charge at the rates the phone is supposed to support. Undaunted I then added in the latest cables that supported the specific charging technologies used by this phone… Nope nothing more than 22 watts MAX, for a phone that should be able to go up to 50 watts.
The MagicOS this runs on is too lean and lacks the maturity of the Samsung OS I am used to. It feels glitchy too. Things will randomly stop working, like pressing and holding on items on screen will stop and you have to reboot to get it to stop. Weird things like you will set an app as default and those settings will get reverted back to factory defaults after reboot.
The camera you have to activate the high res shooting which is a pain and makes no sense, who wants to take low res photos by default? Also the advertised 100x zoom is total crap can’t see anything, it’s really just feature bait with no real value.
Over all tho the device feels solid and the audio is really good, best I have heard in a long time.
I’ll miss the audio and the snappiness, but that is about it. Too much weirdness and cringe factor cause of the glitches and the whole Huawei spyware/malware history of this company, which seems to still persist even after Honor was separated from Huawei. The apple is always like the tree it fell from, even if it rolled over under a different tree.

Edit 6 months in: MagicOS 9 did not bring colour theming, just minor UI improvements. Overall a solid phone though, battery is still amazing and otherwise everything else I liked about the phone still holds up! Camera is only passable though.
Edit a month in: everything below is still the case, but the experience has improved a bit because I’m on the MagicOS 9 beta with a slightly refined UI (not really found any new features, there’s supposed to be colour theming but that’s not in the build I have yet, presumably that’ll come in another beta build)
Edit 2 weeks in: I LOVE THIS PHONE. It’s so useful having two screens, the outside one is crazy bright and the aspect ratio is the same as the iPhone 15 Pro but taller, so closed this phone is just a standard flagship Android. Then you do something that works best inside, like moving money about and being able to use multi-windows to have multiple bank apps open, reading (Google Play Books is a great e-reader app that lets you bring your own .epubs, watching YouTube etc, web browsing, anything else you’d do on a tablet, albeit one with a square screen not a rectangle which is a little annoying for watching videos. It’s great if you do picture on picture though.
I’ll update this review if anything changes, but so far I love this phone. Tech has been boring for years, I’ve tried all the small flips and find them incredibly frustrating to use because you can’t do anything serious on the outer screen. This? Incredible.
Plus sides:
– The battery is amazing, I got 9 hours of screen on time (mostly the internal screen) on my first full day of using it. In real use (9 hours is just because using it is new and exciting) I think this can go days between charges.
– The inner screen is so nice to read from because it’s anti-reflective coating is really good
– The crease is there but not really noticeable when you’re using the phone
– Haptics are great
– Screens are gorgeous (I set mine to natural colour profile in settings, default is vivid)
– Build quality is amazing
Some parts of the software are a bit outdated. There’s no system wide colour theming, notifications/control centre looks outdated, weird old annoyances like you can’t do multiple timers in the default Clock app (but the Google Clock app is in the Play Store I guess). MagicOS does multitasking very well though, and the Magic Portal thing to share something to any app is cool. They also just announced MagicOS 9 and it does have a refreshed UI, but unsure how long that’ll take to actually get to UK users.
Some tips/notes:
– I changed the font size to small in Settings (and also installed Google’s Roboto font), the default size is way too big and feels like it’s meant for people who can’t read properly. Honor’s small font size is basically the same as the iPhone’s default font size.
– The AI stuff in the notes app is super useful. AI has never bothered me before, but the way it can record and transcribe people speaking but also recognise if there are multiple people so you can tell who is saying what.
– Use the case it comes with, there basically aren’t any more available that are good quality.
– There is no charger in the box, the Amazon listing is wrong. I have an Anker 67W USB-C charger that can do super charging with it just fine.

Don’t buy it!
Sadly I have to say this.
The phone is amazing but in the UK there is no CS!!!!
I got told 14 days to send the phone in the replace a slightly scratched outside screen protector or to buy one from someone but that would affect my warranty… Warranty? What warranty if you lose your phone for 2 weeks?
As usual great Chinese tech but pray it doesn’t go wrong…..

The Phone is amazing without a doubt, but for the price, you wouldn’t expect anything else Honor always makes outstanding products, The seller can’t say much other than thank you for providing the product and getting it to me quickly,
The packing box is very sturdy and everything is well-packed, . The manuals are in multiple languages which is what you would expect., I would suggest you download it as it is easier on the eye to read 🙂
Contents of the package are minimal, no power adapter which is stated in the Box Contents on the Amazon webpage,,, You will need to purchase this separately

The four stars are for the phone not the retailer. Unfortunately the centre screen failed within three hours of powering it on. This retailer refused to refund my payment so please avoid them unless you want to risk aggravation. Fortunately, after some discussion, Amazon honoured their agreement & refunded the full amount to my credit card.
I have purchased another Honor Magic V3 but not from this retailer. I love everything about this phone, especially the centre screen, but also the way it links to my PC allowing file and photo transfer back & forth. Something which I need and which is difficult to achieve with an iPhone, which I have had for the last three years.
The camera is the only reason for four rather than five stars. It’s good and produces great photos on the phone screen but there is a lot of processing going on so, although the photos are pretty much noise free, which is excellent even in relatively low light, when enlarged they lack sharpness & definition & have a slightly warm tint. RAW capability is selectable but it seems to produce jpeg images so haven’t yet worked that one out.
For me, the large centre screen, which allows me to work on documents & data that wold be impractical on a standard phone, far outweighs the minor photo issues. Just don’t buy from this retailer.

Gut kombiniert. Ausreichend Speicher, Akku hält bei normalen Gebrauch (telefonieren/ WhatsApp) zwei Tage.
Sonst auch locker den ganzen Tag.
Absolut Klasse Handy!!!

Amazingingly thin phone, super fast charging, could not believe how fast it charged first time, makes my previous phones feel so old and outdated. Do not have to charge everyday unlike other 2 previous foldables I’ve owned. Magic eraser is precise and fun to use, fills in the erased parts really well, spooky sometimes how the AI knows even though there is no indication of what should be there eg it knew colour and pattern of a chair even though person erased was sat covering the whole seat! Software really good, took a couple of days to familiarise self to where all settings were and customisation is good. Bonus case included which is really good quality, fits really well and kickstand is cleverly designed. Paid £90 for a similar case for my previous foldable which was ‘not” included!!. Purchased when price dropped by £300 which was another bonus, this is a lot of latest tech phone for the money.

4 sterne. top smartphone.
gibt nur ein manko.
achtung auf dem größen bildschirm ist schon eine schutzhülle draufgeklebt, nicht abziehen.
